Sponsor a brick.
Fund a home in Sheffield.
£250 lays one brick. 1,200 bricks fund a permanent home for someone ready to leave homelessness behind, referred by local homelessness charities and given the support to retrain and get back into work. Every sponsor stays on the wall for good.
House #1
The earliest sponsors form the foundation. Each contribution is laid as one solid block of colour, from the bottom up — hover any brick to see who laid it.

How sponsoring a brick works
-
Step one
Sponsor bricks
Choose how many bricks to sponsor at £250 each and pay securely through Stripe. Businesses can add a logo and a link to their website.
-
Step two
Watch the wall rise
Your bricks are laid as one block of colour, from the bottom up, in the order sponsors arrive. The wall and the numbers above update live.
-
Step three
A home is funded
At 1,200 bricks the house is funded. Its wall is archived for good with every sponsor credited, and the next house begins.
Where your money goes
A shelter keeps someone alive for a night. A permanent home, and the support to use it as a fresh start, is what gets them out for good. Read why we do it.
Sheffield first
House #1 is in Sheffield, where Buy A Brick is based. After that, the aim is homes across the north of the UK.
Homes bought now, built later
Our first homes will be bought and made ready to live in. As we grow we plan to build new ones too, ideally with residents who have learned building skills along the way.
Referred by local charities
We will work alongside local homelessness charities, who will refer people genuinely ready to turn their lives around.
A home, then support
A settled home comes first. Then support to retrain, gain skills and get back into work.
£300,000 a home, on average
That covers the property, getting it ready to live in, and the support that follows: 1,200 bricks at £250 each.
If a house isn't completed
The money raised for it goes to local homelessness charities working towards a similar mission.
Put your business on the wall
A simple way for a business to back something real in its community, in public, for good.
Sponsor as a business- Your logo and link on the live wall, and kept permanently on the house's page once it is funded.
- A public record you can point to, for customers and staff who want to know what your business stands for.
- Updates as the home progresses, if you opt in when you sponsor.
- Sponsor links are marked
rel="sponsored", so they bring visibility and visitors rather than search rankings.
Top of the Wall
House #1Who's behind Buy A Brick
Buy A Brick was founded in Sheffield by Leeroy Powell, who also founded FU7URE, an initiative working to rebuild prosperity across the North.
It is run as a sole trader business, not a registered charity, and everything it does is public: every brick, every sponsor and every funded house. Questions? sponsors@buy-a-brick.org
Funded houses are archived for good at /walls, with every sponsor still credited.
Questions people ask
Is Buy A Brick a charity?
No. Buy A Brick is run in the UK as a sole trader business trading as "Buy A Brick". It is not a registered charity. We will work alongside local homelessness charities, who will refer the people we house.
Is sponsoring a brick tax-deductible?
No. A brick is a sponsorship payment for a public, permanent placement on the wall, not a charitable donation, so it does not qualify for Gift Aid or charitable tax relief.
Where will the homes be?
House #1 is in Sheffield. Once it is funded the next wall begins, and our aim is to provide homes across the north of the UK.
Who will live in the homes?
People referred to us by local homelessness charities: people who are ready to leave homelessness behind and rebuild their lives. A home comes first, then support to retrain and get back into work.
Why does a home cost £300,000?
It is our average cost per home. It covers buying the property, getting it ready to live in, and the support that follows. Our first homes will be bought. As the programme grows we plan to build new homes too, ideally with residents who have learned building skills along the way helping to build them.
What happens to the money if a house is not completed?
If a house cannot be completed, the money raised for it will be given to local homelessness charities working towards a similar mission.
Do I get a physical brick?
No. Your brick is a place on the wall: your name, or your business name, logo and link, shown on the live wall and kept permanently on that house's page once it is funded. It gives no ownership of the property.
Will a sponsor link help my website rank in Google?
We do not promise that. Sponsor links are paid placements, so they carry the rel="sponsored" attribute that Google requires, and that attribute does not pass ranking value. What you get is lasting public visibility and visitors who click through to you.
Can I get a refund?
If something has gone wrong, such as a duplicate payment or the wrong amount, email sponsors@buy-a-brick.org and we will put it right, including a refund where appropriate. Refunded bricks are removed from the wall.
